Salman Khan is looking forward to the release of his film Sikandar. The AR Murugadoss directorial will be released in theatres on March 30. Ahead of that, the actor had an interactive session with the media where he touched upon several topics such as reuniting with Sanjay Dutt, the delay of his film with Atlee and the possibility of working with Pakistani artistes.
Ever since the Uri attack in 2016, Pakistani artistes have stopped working in the Indian film industry. Before that, actors such as Mahira Khan, Fawad Khan and Sajal Ali were seen in prominent Bollywood films. When asked whether he would want to collaborate with Pakistani artistes, Salman replied, “Take the permission from here, and I am ready to work with them. Or get them a visa and take permission from the government here.
He jokingly added, “Or else I’ll play cricket.”

Back in 2016, Khan defended Pakistani actors working in India and said that they are artistes, not terrorists. The Indian Motion Pictures Producers’ Association had issued a statement declaring that no new Indian films will be made with Pakistani actors in it until the issues between both the countries are solved. However, in 2023, the Bombay High Court dismissed a petition aiming to ban Pakistani artistes from working in India.
In another news, Rakhi Sawant recently expressed her desire to see Pakistani actress Hania Aamir work with Salman Khan. As per what she said, she called and even mailed Salman Khan, asking him to work with the Pakistani actress instead of casting the same Bollywood actresses over and over again.
About Sikandar
A few glimpses of Sikandar’s storyline are shown in the film’s trailer. The film will see Salman Khan play a man who goes by many names – Raja ji, Sanjay and Sikandar. He is relentless in his quest to end corruption and fight for the good of the common people. Besides him, the film also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Prateik Smita Patil and Anjini Dhawan, among others.
