After months of speculation surrounding a potential collaboration between Salman Khan and acclaimed director Atlee, the much-discussed project has now been put on hold. Fans had been eagerly anticipating the duo’s partnership, especially following the massive success of Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan with Atlee at the helm. However, Salman recently addressed the rumours and confirmed that the film is not moving forward at this time.
While promoting his upcoming Eid release Sikandar, Salman shared that the project had indeed been in development but ultimately faced hurdles that prevented it from materialising. He revealed that despite significant efforts, various factors including budget constraints contributed to the delay. As a result, the film has been shelved for now, though he did not rule out the possibility of revisiting it in the future.
The delay has led to changes in Salman’s already packed schedule. He explained that with dates previously allocated for the Atlee film now open, he has the flexibility to take on another project before moving on to subsequent commitments. Among his upcoming ventures, there is strong speculation that he will soon collaborate with Sooraj Barjatya. Barjatya who is currently working on Prem Ki Shaadi with Ayushmann Khurrana is expected to team up with Salman for his next directorial project.
Meanwhile, fans of Bajrangi Bhaijaan have reason to be excited as Salman hinted that a sequel is in the pipeline. He jokingly remarked that while the sequel is feasible, time is a crucial factor, considering that by the time it is completed, Munni—the beloved child character from the original film—will have grown up.
Another much-anticipated project, Tiger vs Pathaan, which would see Salman and Shah Rukh Khan sharing screen space in a high-octane spy thriller, is also not set to take off anytime soon. He confirmed that while discussions have taken place, the film is not happening at this moment.
Despite these setbacks, Salman Khan’s slate remains full, ensuring that his fans will have plenty to look forward to in the coming months.
