Tollywood director Harish Shankar is in talks with the superstar Salman Khan for a breezy entertainer. Mythri Movie Makers is reportedly planning to bring together the actor and director and mount the film on a massive scale. The production house had earlier planned a film titled Ustaad Bhagat Singh with Pawan Kalyan under Harish’s direction. But the film was reportedly shelved due to Pawan’s political commitments.

Apparently, Tollywood director Harish Shankar is in talks with the superstar. Mythri Movie Makers, one of the leading production houses in Tollywood, is reportedly planning to bring together the actor and director and mount the film on a massive scale. The very idea of this collaboration has made fans and trade analysts excited already.
The production house is already bankrolling a Hindi film, Jaat, an action drama starring Sunny Deol and Randeep Hooda. And the film with Salman Khan, if all goes well, will be a huge leap in Bollywood for them. What makes the speculation exciting is having Harish Shankar on board. He’s a director who can churn out mass entertainers and has a proven track record when it comes to delivering blockbusters. Harish directed Salman Khan’s Dabangg in Telugu as Gabbar Singh, starring Pawan Kalyan. The film was a phenomenal success. He didn’t just remake the film; he reinvented it, reworked on the screenwriting which gave a unique identity that connected with the masses and the audience.
The production house had earlier planned a film with Pawan Kalyan under Harish’s direction. The film was titled Ustaad Bhagat Singh and the shooting progressed for a few days – the teaser of the film was also released. But since Pawan contested in the 2024 Andhra Pradesh elections, he left the film in the early stages of production. After Pawan won the elections and became the deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, the actor never had any time for films. This prompted the filmmakers to shelve Ustaad Bhagat Singh, and continue with Harish Shankar for another film that may star Salman Khan. If this collaboration comes through, it will be yet another great moment in the ongoing North-South cross-over trend.
