Amid swirling rumours about Govinda and Sunita Ahuja heading for a divorce, Sunita has strongly denied any such claims. However, she did acknowledge that she and their children live separately from Govinda. Despite ongoing speculation about trouble in their marriage, a recent viral video seems to put those rumours to rest. In the clip, which appears to be from a family celebration, Sunita is seen kissing Govinda after he feeds her cake. While the affectionate moment was meant to shut down gossip, many netizens noticed how their children, Yashvardhan and Tina, looked visibly awkward.
The rumours of their separation started when Sunita mentioned in an interview that she and Govinda were living apart. She revealed that she and their kids stayed in a separate flat while Govinda resided in a bungalow right across from them. However, she later backtracked, claiming it was all said in jest and insisting that no one could separate them. After her initial statement caused a stir, Sunita clarified that when Govinda entered politics, their home saw a lot of visitors, and for their daughter’s safety, they decided to get a separate flat. She also explained that Govinda’s late-night political meetings often led him to sleep at the bungalow.
While their public display of affection suggests all is well, reports from a few days ago painted a different picture. Sunita’s lawyer had reportedly stated that she had filed for divorce six months ago, but the couple later reconciled. Another report claimed that Sunita had even sent a separation notice to Govinda. While she was firm about going ahead with the divorce, Govinda was keen on giving their 37-year-long marriage another chance.
Govinda and Sunita tied the knot in March 1987 and have been together for nearly four decades. Their relationship has had its ups and downs, but despite the ongoing speculation, Sunita maintains that they are still together.
