Ranveer Singh began his career in Bollywood with a searing performance in Band Baaaja Baaraat (2010). And just when people thought Ranveer actually was the over-enthusiastic Bitto Sharma, he donned many different characters and galloped his way to the top, right off the bat. From a vulnerable archaeologist in Lootera (2013), to the hot-blooded lover in Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela (2013), the fearless Maratha warrior in Bajirao Mastani (2015) and the ruthless Khilji in Padmaavat (2018), the underdog Murad in Gully Boy (2019), he proved his work as a complete package. And if this was not enough, Ranveer ended 2025 with the biggest hit of his career with Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar.
Ranveer’s varied roles have solidified his place as a versatile performer whose success echoes loudly. Well, it is not just his performance that has created an impact and grabbed eyeballs. Needless to say, Ranveer as a lover is also a spectacle that will make even the toughest go “Aww”.
From making her blush in front of shutterbugs with sweet gestures and admiring her like a treasure to proclaiming his love loudly to the world, Ranveer’s love language for Deepika is what they write books about. In the beginning, Ranveer and Deepika kept their budding romance under wraps during the shoot of Ram-Leela. We asked Ranveer to spill the beans on the moment he knew she was the one. “Six months into the relationship, I knew she was the one,” he said. She’s too good, too lovely. She’s a force of nature. I understood that almost immediately,” Ranveer added.
Looks like Ranveer actually manifested marrying Deepika, and destiny played its part. “I knew all too well that this is the woman I’m going to marry. This is the woman who would become the mother of my children.” He claims. Not just as a partner, Ranveer heaped praises on Deepika as an actor too. Admiring her process of choosing scripts, he said, “I’m a huge fan of Deepika as an actor. As a fan of hers, I’d like her to keep on doing some great movies. She’s selective about her films. I respect her for taking her own time to take that decision.”
Ranveer calls Deepika his anchor. “I could have got carried away with my name and fame. But she grounded me. Before she had her blockbuster year, we’d already started dating. I’ve seen her deal with failure and success. She’s one hell of a person; she runs her whole show herself. I can’t say that for myself. She’s the CEO of her world in the truest sense.”
He tied the knot with Deepika Padukone on November 14, 2018, at Lake Como in Italy. After this cherished occasion he sat with us and spoke all things heart. “The husband of the millennium” as he calls himself, revealed why he chose Lake Como for the wedding. “Whatever her vision of getting married, I wanted her to realize it. Whatever she wanted, it was done exactly in that manner. She deserves every bit of it. I too deserve happiness and my happiness comes from her happiness. It’s that simple.” He responded.
What began as a romance on sets in 2012 turned into a beautiful marriage in 2018 and now the couple embarks on parenthood with their beautiful 1-year-old daughter, Dua.
