The Sheep Detectives is a family film. However, the makers have brought something truly unique to the screen, something both adults and kids can enjoy. Directed by Kyle Balda and written by Craig Mazin, the film is set to release on May 8, 2026 (ET). The film will be distributed by Amazon MGM Studios in the United States and by Sony Pictures Releasing International globally. What is The Sheep Detectives about?
The Sheep Detectives follow a group of sheep, who are on a journey to solve the mystery around the sudden demise of their farmer, ‘George Hardy’, essayed by Hugh Jackman. While it is generally believed that sheep are not smart enough to handle something like this, the film offers an ironic twist as they step in to solve a problem the humans are failing to figure out. Based on the book, Three Bags Full, the movie has removed some of the darker bits to make it more suitable for all ages.
