While he refrained from providing a specific name, he emphasised that the team is working diligently to bring back the essence of the beloved character.
When questioned about the possibility of Disha Vakani reprising her role, Asit Modi expressed his hopes but admitted the challenges involved. He described Disha Vakani as a sincere and caring actress who had a deep connection with her co-stars and the production team. However, he acknowledged that her family commitments might make her return difficult. Despite this, he remains optimistic about finding an actress who can embody the same spirit and charm.
Meanwhile, speculation arose that television actress Kajal Pisal had been cast as Dayaben after images of her in the character’s signature look surfaced online. Addressing the rumours, Kajal Pisal clarified that the reports were false. She confirmed that she had auditioned for the role in 2022 but had not received any official confirmation from the show’s creators. Currently occupied with her role in Jhanak, she dismissed the recent claims, attributing the viral photos to past auditions.
In a social media post from 2022, Kajal Pisal had expressed her excitement about the audition, referring to the role of Dayaben as a major opportunity. She emphasised her commitment to her craft, stating that she would continue striving for success in her acting career, regardless of the outcome of this particular casting decision.
