According to social media reports, Mara passed away on April 18, 2026, while taking part in the swimming segment of the gruelling Texas Ironman. Tributes are being paid to the Brazilian influencer and the sports enthusiast who lost her life.

Brazilian triathlete, Mara Flavia Araujo, according to a report by Dailystar.co.uk, revealed that the victim reached the surface at 9.30 a.m. on April 18, 2026. A dive team was called on the site to help with recovery-related operations. Mara’s sister, Melissa Araujo, had confirmed that she was dead to the Brazilian press. The race organisers reportedly released a statement regarding the triathlete’s death during the swimming leg of the Ironman Texas race. The statement read:
“We are saddened to confirm the death of a race participant during the swim portion of today’s IRONMAN Texas triathlon. We send our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the athlete and will offer them our support as they go through this very difficult time.”
