Vicky Kaushal has once again captivated audiences with his portrayal of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in “Chhava”. As he continues to bask in the film’s success, he recently reflected on his career and shared insights into the turning points that shaped his journey in Bollywood. While both “Masaan” and “Uri: The Surgical Strike” played crucial roles in establishing him as an actor, he credits Neeraj Ghaywan’s “Masaan” for opening doors within the industry and Aditya Dhar’s “Uri: The Surgical Strike” for making him a household name.

During an interview, Vicky acknowledged that “Masaan” helped him gain recognition within Bollywood, whereas “Uri: The Surgical Strike” propelled him into mainstream fame. He recalled a significant phase in his career when films like “Raazi”, “Sanju”, “Manmarziyaan” and “Uri: The Surgical Strike” all released within six months, cementing his position as a rising star. Though he values both films equally, he believes each played a different role in his growth.

The actor also expressed a deep connection with his character Deepak from “Masaan”, a role he still cherishes. He shared how he related to Deepak’s innocence and naivety, as both their journeys aligned at that stage of his life. Shooting in Banaras with the film’s team remains one of his fondest memories and he considers Deepak to be his favourite character.

Meanwhile, Vicky’s latest historical drama “Chhaava” has been receiving overwhelming love from audiences. Released on the Valentine’s Day weekend, the film has already amassed Rs 117.48 crore at the box office, according to the reports. It recorded impressive earnings of Rs 31 crore on its first day, followed by Rs 37 crore on Day 2 and Rs 48 crore on Day 3. With this momentum, the movie is expected to set new box office benchmarks in the coming days.

Directed by Laxman Utekar, “Chhaava” also features Rashmika Mandanna as Yesubai Bhonsale alongside Akshaye Khanna as Aurangzeb. The film boasts a stellar cast including Ashutosh Rana, Diana Penty, Divya Dutta and Vineet Kumar Singh, further enhancing its cinematic appeal.
