The Maddock Horror Universe is expanding once again, and the latest addition to the franchise is generating buzz. Viineet Kumar Singh, known for his versatile performances, has reportedly joined the cast of the upcoming horror-comedy Shakti Shalini. In an interesting turn, he will be seen stepping into the shoes of the lead antagonist, marking a fresh chapter in his career. Viineet Kumar Singh has been a name to watch out for recently, especially after his roles in Chhaava alongside Vicky Kaushal and Jaat with Sunny Deol. According to reports from Variety India, he has already started filming for the project, which originally went into production last year.
Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, Shakti Shalini serves as the sixth movie in the Maddock Horror Universe. This franchise has already seen massive box office success with previous films such as Stree, Bhediya, Munjya, Stree 2, and Thamma. The film also marks a reunion for lead actors Vishal Jethwa and Aneet Padda. The duo previously collaborated in Salaam Venky, where their on-screen chemistry was highly appreciated by the audience. While specific plot details are currently being kept under wraps, fans caught a glimpse of what to expect in a teaser at the end of Thamma. The clip introduced Aneet as the lead character, marking a shift from her romantic role in Saiyaara to a character which is a part of a horror-comedy story.

Aneet is coming off a massive high after Saiyaara had a memorable run at the box office. However, the release of Shakti Shalini may face some scheduling hurdles. Originally slated for a December 24 release, rumours suggest the makers might opt for a different date to avoid a box office clash with the Shah Rukh Khan starrer King. The month of December 2026 is looking particularly crowded at the box office. Major Hollywood releases like Avengers: Doomsday, Dune: Part Three, and Jumanji 3 are all scheduled to arrive within a week of each other, making the competition for screen space intense.
In other news related to the lead actress, Aneet Padda’s sister, Reet Padda, recently made headlines after calling the film Dhurandhar: The Revenge propaganda. After the social media criticism, Reet has since deleted her Instagram and LinkedIn accounts.
