Rashmika Mandanna turned 30 today, April 5. To mark this occasion, her actor-husband, Vijay Deverakonda, shared a behind-the-scenes video of her transformation into the character of Jayamma from their upcoming film, Ranabaali.
The video shows her wearing traditional sarees, gold jewellery, and a bindi to transform into Jayamma. It opens with the words, “In a world painted in grey… she was his only colour,” followed by, “Celebrating the strength of Ranabaali- Jayamma. Happy birthday, Rashmika Mandanna.”
Sharing the video, Vijay wrote, “I love you Jayamma :)”

Ranabaali is a period drama set in the 19th century that stars Vijay as the titular character. He will essay the role of a freedom fighter, and Rashmika will be seen as his wife, Jayamma. The first look was unveiled a couple of months ago, right after Vijay and Rashmika tied the knot. Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, the film will be released on September 11, 2026. This will mark the couple’s third film together after Dear Comrade and Geetha Govindam.

Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna tied the knot on February 26 in Udaipur in the presence of their close friends and family members. The wedding followed a rooted cultural ceremony filled with traditional rituals, floral decor and sacred chants. Rashmika appeared radiant in a classic saree with heritage jewellery, while Vijay complemented her in an elegant traditional outfit.
The couple had a private relationship for a long time before they finally decided to make things public. They confirmed their marriage with the statement, “Dearest loves, Before we made any plans, before we chose anything for ourselves, you were already there. With so much love, you gave us a name. You called us ‘VIROSH’. So today – with full hearts, we name our coming together in your honour. We would like to name it – ‘The Wedding of VIROSH’.”
