The White House was left shaken on Saturday after an unexpected shooting incident broke out in the middle of a high-profile correspondents’ dinner. The dinner was attended by President Donald Trump and Melania Trump, Vice President JD Vance, press secretary Caroline Leavitt, and numerous other senior officials, along with roughly 2,600 journalists.
All hell broke loose when a gunman opened fire at the event held at the Washington Hilton, injuring a Secret Service agent before being taken into custody. Shortly before, the alleged gunman, Cole Thomas Allen, released a lengthy manifesto that has raised questions about the reliability of the security team at such a high-profile event.

The 31-year-old ‘Teacher of the Month’, Cole Thomas Allen, was accused of opening fire during the high-profile dinner. About ten minutes before the shooting, Allen reportedly sent a 1,052-word manifesto to his relatives, where he detailed his justification and “rules of engagement” for the shooting. One particular point that has gained attention was how he described his ordeal upon reaching the venue, and how easy it was for him to carry his weapons inside the building.
