Bhoot Bangla was one of the most anticipated films of 2026. For those unaware, the film has undergone several date changes. It was initially slated to release in theatres on May 15, 2026, but was preponed to April 10, 2026. But later, the date was revised again, and it finally arrived a few days ago in the cinemas, on April 17, 2026. One of the biggest reasons that fans had been extremely excited for the film is that it marks the reunion of Akshay Kumar and filmmaker, Priyadarshan. Now, amid the film’s ongoing success, rumours have been swirling about the possibility of a Bhoot Bangla sequel.
Will there be a Bhoot Bangla sequel?
Akshay Kumar’s entertainer, Bhoot Bangla, is a horror comedy set in the ghostly town of Mangalpur. Before the film hit theatres, many were sceptical about whether it would be as successful as Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Thankfully, both Akshay and director, Priyadarshan have proved them wrong at the box office. For those unaware, Bhoot Bangla is a standalone film featuring new characters and a new story, and has no connection to Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Now, while it has only been a couple of days since the film’s release, it has already generated a lot of buzz, especially about the possibility of a Bhoot Bangla sequel.
