Shah Rukh Khan bought his Mumbai home Mannat in 2001. It was originally known as Villa Vienna. He bought the property from the Bai Khorshed Bhanu Sanjana Trust. During Yes Boss’ shooting in 1997, choreography Ahmed Khan has revealed that the actor was shooed away from the place. Without feeling sad or dejected, SRK had given a fitting reply to the watchman.
In one of his interviews, King Khan had once said, “It’s one of the most difficult things I’ve done in my life… is to buy this house. I don’t have a house anywhere in the world. I didn’t have a house because my parents died. I have a house fetish. I want a house. I have always wanted a house.”

The actor had a witty reply ready for the situation. He had said, “‘Khareed lu kya? Fir shot lenge. (Shall I buy it? We’ll able to shoot then.)’ He told the entire unit, ‘Yeh khareed lu kya? (Shall I buy it?)’” fondly recalled the choreographer. “It wasn’t called Mannat then. He said let me buy this and then we will be able to do our shot. He said it jokingly but his words came true. And he bought that place,” he added.

While Shah Rukh and his family have stayed there for 24 years, the Khans are reportedly planning to vacate the place, in order to begin renovations. As per reports, they are moving to a property in Bandra for 3 years as Mannat is likely to get two new floors added. The family has rented properties from Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani and Deepshikha Deshmukh for Rs 11.54 lakhs per month.
