Michael Patrick was diagnosed with motor neurone disease back in 2023. It started with Michael’s foot first and rapidly spread to his upper body. He was diagnosed while he was performing at the Dublin Fringe Festival. Well, within months, he couldn’t even stand, and eventually, he was given only one year to live. In February 2026, Michael made a decision to undergo tracheostomy, a surgery that could have extended the time he was given to live, but he would have to stay in the hospital.
