Kajal Aggarwal says motherhood has transformed the way she chooses her films. The actress, who shares a son, Neil Kitchlu, with her entrepreneur husband Gautam Kitchlu, says she now feels a greater sense of responsibility while selecting projects. Every script is evaluated from the perspective of what her young son would think.

Ramayana holds special significance
Speaking in a recent interview, Kajal revealed that her ultimate goal is to choose films that will make her son Neil Kitchlu proud. She also shared that her son is currently fascinated by the Ramayana, making her upcoming film based on the epic even more meaningful.
Kajal plays Mandodari, the Queen of Lanka and wife of Ravana, in director Nitesh Tiwari’s highly-anticipated Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi. The actress who stars opposite Yash, who plays Ravana in the epic, said she hopes it will be the first film she shows to Neil. While her role is relatively brief in the first instalment, she will have a much larger presence in the sequel, which is slated for a Diwali 2027 release. By then, Neil will be five years old.
Apart from Ramayana, Kajal will also be seen in the upcoming investigative drama The India Story.
A career spanning multiple industries
Kajal married Gautam Kitchlu in 2020, marking a new chapter in both her personal and professional life. Over the years, she has established herself as one of the leading stars of Telugu and Tamil cinema.
She rose to nationwide fame with Magadheera and further cemented her popularity with films such as Darling alongside Prabhas. She has also starred opposite Pawan Kalyan in Sardaar Gabbar Singh and shared the screen with Mahesh Babu in Businessman and Brahmotsavam, strengthening her position as one of South Indian cinema’s most successful leading ladies.
