
Aditya Dhar is riding high with the success of Dhurandhar: The Revenge. According to reports, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has approached the filmmaker to helm a biopic on the legendary Ahom commander Lachit Borphukan. Discussions with Dhar related to the same have been going on. The vision is to create a movie that introduces Assam hero’s legacy to the fans globally.
For the unversed, Lachit Borphukan was born on November 24, 1622, in Assam. He was the youngest son of Momai Tamuli Borbarua and Kunti Moran. Lachit was born in a royal family, and Momai was the commander-in-chief of the Ahom army. Lachit grew up in the backdrop of the Mughal-Ahom conflict. He had become the commander of Hanstidhara Tamuli by the then minister of the state when he got the position of commander of the Ahom state.
