Former longtime spouses Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner have returned to the headlines years after their 2018 divorce. After Affleck sold his AI filmmaking startup, InterPositive, to Netflix earlier this year, the streaming giant has disclosed that it paid the actor USD 587 million in cash. 

On the other hand, Jennifer Garner has marked her much-awaited return to acting with Peacock’s new TV adaptation, The Five Star Weekend. With both exes continuing to dominate headlines, many are wondering whether Gardner is entitled to any share of Affleck’s Netflix deal. 

Why Jennifer Garner won’t receive any of Ben Affleck’s Netflix payout

Netflix recently disclosed the purchase price of their deal in a Form 10-Q filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, revealing that it completed a business acquisition in March for approximately USD 587 million in cash. While the filing did not explicitly name InterPositive, it left little room for doubt, as the company announced its acquisition of Affleck’s AI startup on March 5, 2026.
