After years of their breakup, Matty Healy’s mother, Denise Welch spoke about the same and highlighted the ‘ordeal’ it had on him. During her appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, Welch said that she had nothing against Taylor, but “not being her [Swift’s] mother-in-law is a role that I’m glad that I lost.”
She called the breakup ‘tricky’ but also stated how the split left her son in a bad condition. When Andy asked Welch her thoughts on Swift’s Tortured Poet’s Department album, which was reportedly about Healy and his romance with the singer, Welch replied, “You’re not allowed to say anything, and then she writes a whole album.”
