Veteran Telugu actress and comedian Pavala Shyamala spent nearly four decades in front of the camera, playing diverse character roles in more than 250 films and bringing a smile to millions of faces. However, that same joy was largely absent in her personal life. Her life was marked by heartbreaking losses from a young age, years-long financial hardships, chronic illnesses, and ultimately homelessness.
Shyamala, who died on July 28, 2026, at the age of 75 after suffering a cardiac arrest, endured a series of tragedies that stood in stark contrast to her successful career in Telugu cinema.
Tragedy followed Pavala Shyamala from a young age
Pavala Shyamala (Nethi Shyamala) was born in 1951 in Amaravathi, Andhra Pradesh. She lost her mother when she was very young, and her father, a businessman, was often away for work. Her childhood was largely unstable, and she had to take on responsibilities from an early age. Given her family’s responsibilities, she was only able to study till the 10th standard.
