Veteran Telugu actress and comedian Pavala Shyamala spent nearly four decades in front of the camera, playing diverse character roles in more than 250 films and bringing a smile to millions of faces. However, that same joy was largely absent in her personal life. Her life was marked by heartbreaking losses from a young age, years-long financial hardships, chronic illnesses, and ultimately homelessness.
Shyamala, who died on July 28, 2026, at the age of 75 after suffering a cardiac arrest, endured a series of tragedies that stood in stark contrast to her successful career in Telugu cinema.
Tragedy followed Pavala Shyamala from a young age
Pavala Shyamala (Nethi Shyamala) was born in 1951 in Amaravathi, Andhra Pradesh. She lost her mother when she was very young, and her father, a businessman, was often away for work.
