A month after Dhruv Vikram’s next project with debutant director Karan Arvind Kumar was announced, the makers have revealed another key addition to the film’s crew. Santhosh Narayanan has been roped in to compose the music for the yet-to-be-titled film, currently referred to as DV4. The announcement reunites the composer with Dhruv after their previous collaboration on Mahaan, where Santhosh’s soundtrack received widespread acclaim.
Backed by Mythri Movie Makers, the film has been described by the production house as “an out-and-out commercial entertainer”. While the story remains under wraps, the project is steadily shaping up with a mix of experienced technicians and emerging talent behind the scenes.
Santhosh Narayanan reunites with Dhruv Vikram
The makers announced Santhosh Narayanan’s inclusion through social media, confirming that the composer will score the music for DV4. It marks his second outing with Dhruv Vikram and adds another notable collaboration to Santhosh’s busy slate of upcoming releases.
The screenplay has been penned by director Karan Arvind Kumar along with writer Sabari Nath. Although the film’s narrative is still being kept under wraps, the production house has promised a full-fledged commercial entertainer.
The cast also includes Prithvi Pandiarajan, who recently impressed audiences with Blue Star and Parasakthi, alongside actor Sai Deena. The makers are expected to announce additional cast members in the coming weeks.
Behind the camera, the film brings together cinematographer Viki, editor Jayasuriya, costume designer Praveen Raja, production designer GM Sekhar and stunt choreographer Vikram Mor, pointing towards a technically ambitious production.
Dhruv gears up for another physically demanding role
While the genre has not been officially confirmed, several clues shared by Dhruv Vikram over the past few months suggest the film could revolve around combat sports. In April, the actor posted a video of himself training in kickboxing with the caption, “New film. New skill. New sport. New drill.” Later, in June, he shared a still from the project that appeared to place him in the middle of an action sequence, fuelling speculation about the film’s action-heavy nature.

If the speculation proves accurate, the project would see Dhruv portray another athlete after his upcoming film Bison Kaalamaadan, directed by Mari Selvaraj, where he plays a kabaddi player. Although the makers have not confirmed whether kickboxing forms the backdrop of DV4, the actor’s intensive preparation has only heightened anticipation.
For director Karan Arvind Kumar, the film marks his feature directorial debut after working as an assistant director on Adithya Varma and Sorgavaasal. He also recently contributed as a writer to RJ Balaji and Suriya’s Karuppu, making DV4 his biggest project to date.
The film also continues Mythri Movie Makers’ growing presence in Tamil cinema. Following productions such as Good Bad Ugly, Dude and Modha Rathiri, DV4 becomes the banner’s fourth Tamil venture. The film is produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar, with more announcements regarding the title, first look and release schedule expected in the coming months.
