Prateik Babbar got married to the love of his life, Priya Banerjee on Valentine’s Day, 2025, at the late actress, Smita Patil’s home. While the glimpses of the duo’s low-key wedding left everyone in awe, it raised eyebrows when Prateik’s father, Raj Babbar, along with his step-siblings, Arya and Juhi, could nowhere be seen at the wedding. Later, it was disclosed that the Babbar family wasn’t invited. Arya and Juhi expressed their hurt over the same, and in a recent interview, the former yet again bared his heart out as he talked about Prateik ignoring their calls for months.
Arya Babbar feels it was ‘disrespectful’ to Smita Patil on Prateik Babbar’s part as the latter didn’t invite Raj Babbar
Arya Babbar recently sat for an interview with the Hindustan Times, wherein he stated that he felt that Prateik not inviting Raj Babbar was ‘disrespectful’ to Smita Patil. Arya mentioned that it’s understandable that he and his sister, Juhi, along with their mom, Nadira not being invited to the wedding, as it was completely Prateik’s choice. But Pateik not inviting his father, who has been everything to his late mom, Smita Patil, looked a bit disrespectful. In Arya Babbar’s words:
“If he didn’t want to invite our mother Nadira, for whatever reason, I can understand. If he didn’t wish to call me or my sister Juuhi, that’s his choice. But the least he could have done was invite the person who meant everything to Smita maa – his father, Raj Babbar. Not doing so is deeply disrespectful to Smita maa.”
