Actor Dhruv Vikram has opened up about dealing with intense public scrutiny surrounding his personal life in recent months. Speculation about his relationship status intensified following his reported split from actress Anupama Parameswaran, particularly after she spoke publicly about enduring what she described as a toxic relationship for two years. While neither actor has directly confirmed that her comments referred to their relationship, the speculation has continued to draw attention online.
Dhruv on dealing with public scrutiny
Speaking at a conclave organised by India Today, Dhruv acknowledged that the constant attention surrounding his personal life does affect him at times. However, the Mahaan actor said he has learnt to stay anchored in reality rather than allow public opinion to dictate how he views himself.
“If I’m being honest, I can’t say it has never affected me. That said, I think it’s important to anchor yourself in reality,” he said. The Adithya Varma star explained that having clarity about one’s identity and values can help build resilience, particularly when the public begins speculating about aspects of one’s life that remain private.
“Know who you are, know what you stand for, and protect fiercely everybody that you love and everything that matters to you, or has ever mattered to you before,” Dhruv added.
‘You subconsciously learn to be an army of one’
The actor also spoke about the importance of creating a personal space away from the noise. He said that over time, he has learnt to focus on doing the inner work and protecting his own peace rather than constantly responding to outside opinions.
“When you are aligned with the truth, and when you know what anchors you, scrutiny can only go so far. Subconsciously, you learn to be an army of one. You have your own world; you do the inner work. You protect your bubble as much as you can,” he further said.
Anupama’s ‘Anniyan’ comparison
Dhruv’s comments come amid renewed attention on Anupama’s remarks about her past relationship. In a recent interview, the Karthikeya 2 actress compared her former partner’s dramatically shifting behaviour to the multiple-personality character from Anniyan, the Chiyaan Vikram-starrer.
She recalled how her partner could be intensely loving and romantic one day, making her feel extremely lucky, before suddenly becoming cold, hostile or emotionally distant. She said the cycle could then shift again into apologies, tears and affection.
Although Anupama did not name the person she was referring to, her remarks have led to widespread speculation about whether she was talking about her reported relationship with Dhruv Vikram. Neither actor has publicly confirmed the details of their alleged split.
