
More than two years after Mica Miller’s tragic death, her family is still fighting to keep her story alive. Netflix’s Death of the Pastor’s Wife has brought renewed attention to Mica’s life, her troubled marriage to pastor John-Paul “JP” Miller, and the questions that continue to surround the years leading up to her death, and the case that eventually led to the establishment of Mica’s Law.
The three-part docuseries gives Mica’s parents, Michael Francis and Angelita Ramirez, along with her siblings Nate, Anna, Sierra, Abi and Destinee, a chance to share their experiences and speak about the woman they say they lost far too soon.
Mica and JP Miller’s relationship was controversial and grew deeply troubled over the years
Mica, a worship leader and singer, was 18 when she married her first husband, Jeremy, and JP was married to his first wife, Alison Williams, at the time. According to the documentary’s accounts, the pair began an affair in 2015, when they were both married to their respective spouses. After the marriages ended, Mica and JP tied the knot on November 7, 2017. Within years, their relationship would become deeply troubled.
