Rashmika Mandanna is currently recuperating after suffering a hip tendon injury on the sets of her film in July. While the actress has been resting for over a month, she shares that the unexpected downtime has been a very strange experience. Speaking to Hindustan Times, Rashmika recalled how she sustained the injury.
How the injury happened…
While shooting an intense song and dance sequence for her upcoming action thriller Mysaa, Rashmika suffered a snapped/detached tendon in her right hip. “I could experience a sap in my hip bone, but I continued shooting till I couldn’t lift my right leg,” Rashmika shared. The next day, she visited a hospital and underwent an MRI scan, which did not detect an injury. “But doctors told me my pain receptors are messed up. They were surprised how I even managed to walk to the hospital,” she revealed.

Spending time with husband Vijay Deverakonda
The recovery period also gave Rashmika Mandanna the opportunity to spend time with Vijay Deverakonda. She acknowledged that the two of them hadn’t been able to spend much time together after their wedding in February. “This was the universe’s way of saying, calm down,” laughs Rashmika. “While Vijay likes watching serious shows, K-dramas are my thing, so now we watch both. I have managed to convert him already.” The Pushpa actress also feels that spending time with her family made her focus less on the injury.

Rashmika is expected to return to the sets in a week’s time. She has been constantly updating her fans on social media about her recovery process. The actress will resume shooting for Ranabaali, which stars her husband, Vijay Deverakonda. She has another 10 days of shooting left and, moreover, the Rahul Sankrityan directorial is slated for release on October 16. She also has Mysaa and another yet-to-be-titled film. Rashmika certainly has a packed itinerary once she returns to work.
