Mirzapur: The Movie has maintained its strong momentum at the box office, recording a significant jump in collections on its second day, boosted by the Dahi Handi holiday. The film, which hit theatres on September 4, has now crossed the Rs. 50 crore mark in India net collections.
The film opened to an impressive Rs. 24.75 crore on Friday, setting the tone for a strong theatrical run. The opening is particularly noteworthy as the film features several established character actors rather than conventional A-list stars. The strong response highlights the popularity and reach of the Mirzapur franchise, which has built a loyal audience over the years.
The momentum continued on Saturday, with Mirzapur: The Movie reportedly collecting an estimated Rs. 32 crores nett on Day 2. According to Sacnilk, the film recorded the collection across 11,256 shows, taking its total India nett collection to Rs. 57.75 crore. Its India gross collection currently stands at Rs. 69.30 crore.The film also registered a healthy performance in overseas markets, earning Rs. 6 crores on its second day and taking its overseas gross total to Rs. 10.25 crores. With this, the film’s worldwide gross collection has reached Rs. 79.55 crores.
With two days of strong collections, Mirzapur: The Movie is now heading into its first weekend with considerable momentum. The film brings back several familiar characters from the popular franchise while also introducing new faces.
