Ram Charan has a history of working out hard in the gym and transforming his physique for roles. For RC17, his 17th outing, he is planning to lose as much as 8 kg. A customized diet has been diligently followed, and he has also worked out a fitness regimen, likely in consultation with his trainer. It will be several weeks before the film goes on the floors, with the shoot expected to commence mostly in the last week of November, or a little later.

Anything for the role
The actor, known as the Mega Power Star among fans, has transformed for RRR and Peddi in the past. For the latter, which is a sports action drama, he was required to abandon a conventional gym-sculpted physique to build the realistic, rugged frame of a traditional desi pehalwan (wrestler). Under the guidance of his fitness trainer, he underwent intensive workouts and strict nutrition planning to gain substantial muscle mass. Sporting a thick beard, long hair, and a bulked-up body, the actor’s fierce look in the film contributed to Peddi’s pre-release buzz. Earlier, for RRR, Charan underwent an intense physical transformation under celebrity fitness coach Rakesh Udiyar to portray Alluri Sitarama Raju. The primary goal was achieving a lean, chiselled, and muscular look with high definition rather than bulky mass. His regimen combined structured weight training, high-intensity functional movements, and daily cardio like running, boxing, and swimming.

RC17, a big-scale commercial movie
Coming back to RC17, this reunion between Ram Charan and the Pushpa maker follows their previous blockbuster collaboration, Rangasthalam. With the script and pre-production reportedly finalized, regular shooting will be a flood. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers alongside Sukumar Writings, the film will feature music composed by Devi Sri Prasad. It is designed as a large-scale commercial action entertainer blending mass appeal and emotional themes (which is a given in a Sukumar directorial).
