Malavika Mohanan’s knack to effortlessly demonstrate acting versatility across multiple genre films and industries is inspiring. While balancing intense, character-driven dramas with mainstream commercial films, she has carved a niche for herself over the years. For the pre-release event of her upcoming film Sardar 2, starring Karthi, Adivi Sesh walked in as one of the special guests. And the actor made an interesting revelation.
Adivi Sesh’s interesting revelation
As part of his guest speech during the Sardar 2 event, Adivi Sesh revealed that Malavika Mohanan was first approached for the leading lady role in the most-awaited spy thriller franchise Goodachari 2. But she had already committed to working for Sardar 2 by then and Malavika felt that the dates of both the films may clash. Hence, to avoid such a clash of schedules, the actress couldn’t take up the second instalment. “We have approached Malavika garu for our Goodachari 2, but she said she is already doing a spy film Sardar 2. So hopefully we will get to work next time with her,” said Sesh. The makers of Goodachari 2 eventually cast Wamiqa Gabbi for the part. The character has a great spunk and features action sequences.
Sardar 2 is a mad ride: Malavika
Sardar 2, which is slated for release on September 10, features Malavika Mohanan in a lead role named Sara. According to her, it is an intense, action-oriented role rather than a conventional glamorous or romantic lead. The actress underwent rigorous training for the film to perform challenging stunts, including high-altitude wire and jump sequences that required strict core and body control. Describing her role as unique compared to her past work, Malavika said, “Working on Sardar 2 is a mad ride. Climbing 200 meters of stairs and jumping while maintaining body posture and core control was challenging. But I am excited for the gritty espionage’s theatrical release and looking forward.”
