Bhumi Pednekar, Arjun Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh’s next film is, Mere Husband Ki Biwi. The film’s trailer has intrigued the masses as it shows Bhumi, Arjun and Rakul Preet in a love triangle fiasco. Bhumi’s character, ‘Prableen Dhillon’, is Arjun’s ex-wife and has retrograde amnesia, while Rakul is Arjun’s future wife. Now, it looked like Bhumi had an amnesia moment in real as she confused the Kanyadaan ceremony with Godh Bharai ritual.
Bhumi Pednekar calls the Kanyadaan ritual as Godh Bharai rasam
During an interview with, Hesha Chimah from Varinder Chawla’s team, Bhumi and Arjun came to promote their film, Mere Husband Ki Biwi. Bhumi was asked about a wedding ritual that she thought made no sense to her. She began by saying that she loved all the rituals, while Arjun added that she liked all rituals as she liked to go and attend. Bhumi made a fool of herself when she said that the Godh Bharai ritual was only done by males, and she wanted to change that. The actress then realised it was not Godh Bharai but Kanyadaan ritual. In her words:
“I love shaadis. You know something that should evolve is joh Godh Bharai. It is usually the male member of the family that does it. I feel like both the mother and the father have equally bought up the child. I think it should be kind of not Godh Bharai. That is not Godh Bharai. That is Kanyadaan. I realised ki mei galat bol rahi hu kyuki that’s when you are pregnant.”
