After the release of his film Bhooth Bangla, Akshay Kumar has started shooting for his next film. The actor jetted off to Kerala today with one of his favourite co-stars, Vidya Balan, for filmmaker Anees Bazmee’s next.
He took to social media to share a video, along with the caption, “Anees Bazmee’s next is my fourth film with the ever fabulous @balanvidya and I hope the good luck charm of our jodi continues.” In the video, Akshay and Vidya can be seen getting inside an aircraft.

Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan have worked together in three films – Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Mission Mangal and Heyy Babyy. Netizens are excited to see the duo unite again. Actress Shraddha Kapoor’s brother Siddhanth Kapoor wrote, “OG manjulika with Dr Aditya Shrivastava from Bhool Bhulaiyaa.”
“Manjulika and dr aditiya sirasvastav Og Bhool bhulaiya cast (sic)”, wrote another user.
This film marks Akshay’s reunion with Bazmee after their superhit comedy film, Welcome. The title of the film has not been revealed, but the cast reportedly features Raashii Khanna, Vijay Raaz, Zakir Hussain and Sayaji Shinde, besides Akshay and Vidya.
While details about the plot have been kept under wraps, it was being reported earlier that it is a remake of the Telugu film Sankranthiki Vasthunam. However, a couple of months ago, Bazmee clarified in an interview that the film is not a remake, but close to the original.
He told Bollywood Hungama, “Such rumours keep floating in the market. Until now, a lot has been said about me and my films. But I never give clarification, as the truth comes out eventually. The story of our film is close to the premise of (Sankranthiki Vasthunam). Also, Dil Raju bhai is the producer of both the films. All I can say is that hamari film acchi hai. Mehnat poori ki hai humne.”
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar’s professional slate remains packed. The actor was recently seen in Bhooth Bangla. He is also busy with films such as Welcome To The Jungle and Haiwaan.
