Apoorva Mukhija recently appeared on Lock Upp 2, and during the show, she recalled the tough phase she had to endure following the massive controversy surrounding India’s Got Latent. Apoorva entered the show as an informer and sorted out her differences with Sufi Motiwala, one of the Lock Upp contestants. For those who don’t know, Sufi and Apoorva became friends during the show, The Traitors, and following this, they had a public fallout.
However, while being on Lock Upp 2, Apoorva revealed that she missed Sufi, and she also shared that every time someone questioned her friendship with him, she stuck to being grateful. Apoorva shared that she would have killed herself after the India’s Got Latent controversy if Sufi had not been by her side. The controversy, which came out in February 2025, turned out to be a massive one. Apoorva made some comments on female body parts to roast a male contestant who roasted her first, and it didn’t go down well with others, leading to several FIRs being lodged against her.

Not only her, but Ranveer Allahbadia also faced the wrath for his comments on parents’ intimacy. The phase was tough for all of them, including Samay Raina, Ranveer and Apoorva. While people might think that they bagged a hefty sum of money for their appearance in India’s Got Latent, it’s exactly the opposite. None of the guests was paid in thousands, lakhs or crores; rather, they earned zero for their appearance on Samay Raina’s show.
