As the July 4 weekend approaches, global attention has turned to New York City, where intense speculation surrounds potential wedding celebrations for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. While the couple, who got engaged in August 2025, has not addressed any rumours about their wedding, reports suggest festivities are planned at Madison Square Garden (MSG) for July 2 and July 3.
According to a law enforcement official who spoke with the Associated Press, the event on the night of July 2 is expected to be a rehearsal dinner, with the wedding taking place on the night of July 3. New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch commented on the activity, saying, “I would be remiss not to mention an event that we are tracking at Madison Square Garden on Friday night.” She added, “The NYPD will, of course, have a detail in place, but I am not going to go into more specifics on that at this time.”
Details about the timeline have been reported by CBS. The rehearsal dinner is expected to host 100 guests at the Infosys Theater at MSG, beginning at 6:00 pm EST. For the main event on July 3, reports indicate 1,000 guests are expected, with a cocktail hour beginning at 3:30 pm EST on the 6th-floor concourse, followed by a reception running from 6:30 pm to 2:00 am EST. Logistical preparations at the arena have fuelled further interest. Workers have been spotted moving various items into the venue, including stage equipment, lights, and a baby grand piano. Trucks bearing signs like Garden Party and GP have also been seen. A street closure permit near the arena for the Independence Day weekend was also previously confirmed to the BBC by Dora Pekec, a spokesperson for the New York City mayor’s office.
George Kittle, a friend of Travis Kelce, told Entertainment Tonight, “I actually asked Travis last night and he laughed at me, so… I’m half expecting there just to be a jumbo jet on the runway and they put us on a plane somewhere. I don’t have expectations, I know it’s going to be amazing.”
Amidst the speculation, some fans wonder if the visible activity at MSG could be a distraction for an intimate ceremony held elsewhere. For now, the fans are hoping for more glimpses from the upcoming wedding.
