After the success of his recent directorial venture Chhaava, filmmaker Laxman Utekar is already looking ahead to his future projects. According to recent reports, the director has set his sights on collaborating with Hrithik Roshan for his next film, which he plans to direct once his upcoming release, Eetha, releases in theatres.
Eetha, which will hit screens on August 28, is a biographical drama based on the life story of Vithabai Narayangaonkar, a renowned Marathi Lavani and Tamasha performer. The film also stars Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and Randeep Hooda in important roles, with music composed by Ajay-Atul. The teaser for the project has already generated buzz among audiences.
According to reports by Variety India, Utekar has reached out to Hrithik Roshan with a proposal for a new film to be directed after the release of Eetha. However, the actor has not yet responded to the offer. Currently, Hrithik Roshan is occupied with pre-production work on his directorial debut, Krrish 4, a film that is being jointly backed by Aditya Chopra and Rakesh Roshan. Prior to focusing on that project, Hrithik will appear in a cameo role in Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2.
Reports indicate that Hrithik has already shot his portions for the film on June 22 and 23 in Chennai. This appearance marks an on-screen reunion for Hrithik and Rajinikanth, coming 40 years after they appeared together in Bhagwaan Dada.
Jailer 2, which is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, will release in cinemas on October 15. The film also features an ensemble cast, including SJ Suryah, Ramya Krishnan, Vidya Balan, and Yogi Babu, alongside cameos from Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Vijay Sethupathi, and Mithun Chakraborty.
As it stands, while the interest from the director is evident, Hrithik Roshan remains tied up with his existing commitments, and there has been no official update about a potential collaboration between the two.
