Fauzi Release Date Announced: Prabhas Period War Drama to Hit Theatres on December 3

Director Hanu Raghavapudi has officially announced the theatrical release date of his much-awaited multilingual film Fauzi. Starring Prabhas in the lead, the period war drama will release in cinemas worldwide on December 3. Produced by Y Ravi Shankar and Naveen Yerneni of Mythri Movie Makers, Fauzi has been in production for several years and is one of Prabhas’ most anticipated upcoming films.

A story of courage, honour and freedom

Announcing the release date, Hanu Raghavapudi described Fauzi as “a story rooted in courage, honour and freedom,” hinting at an emotional period drama set against the backdrop of India’s colonial era.

Earlier promotional material described the film as “the bravest tale of a soldier from the hidden chapters of our history,” suggesting that it will blend action, patriotism and historical fiction. Industry buzz also indicates that Prabhas plays a morally complex spy, although the makers are yet to officially reveal details about his character. 
In Fauzi, Prabhas plays a larger-than-life soldier, and I wanted his character to reflect the virtues of Arjuna’s skill, Karna’s sacrifice, and Ekalavya’s devotion,” director Hanu Raghavapudi explained.

The film is slated for release in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Bengali. Production is currently in its final phase. Prabhas has already completed filming his talkie portions, while a few major action sequences remain to be shot before the film wraps production.

Ensemble cast

Fauzi features a diverse ensemble cast led by Prabhas and marks the big-screen debut of social media personality Emanvi Ismail. Veteran actors Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher and Jaya Prada also play pivotal roles. The film’s music has been composed by Vishal Chandrasekhar, who previously collaborated with Hanu Raghavapudi on the acclaimed Sita Ramam. Meanwhile, Prabhas was last seen in The Raja Saab. He also has Spirit and Kalki 2 in his upcoming slate.
