Friends’ actress Courteney Cox has reportedly parted ways with her longtime partner, Johnny McDaid, after more than a decade together. According to a report by the Daily Mail, the couple quietly ended their relationship last year. Sources close to the former couple told the publication that they had reached a stage where they were living different lives, adding that the split was completely amicable.
One of their friends was quoted by the outlet saying, “Johnny speaks incredibly highly of Courteney. They had a very deep relationship, and they remain extremely amicable. They are great friends and care about each other very much. This was not an ugly split. They had simply reached a point where they were living different lives.” Neither Cox nor McDaid has publicly addressed the reports.
The couple began dating in 2013 after being introduced by mutual friends, including singer Ed Sheeran. They got engaged in 2014 but briefly called it quits in 2015 before reconciling the following year. They remained together for nearly a decade after getting back together, despite never getting married.
As per reports, distance played a significant role in their separation. While Cox is based in Los Angeles, McDaid reportedly spends much of his time in London. The report also claims that McDaid is in the early stages of a new relationship, although no further details about his alleged partner have been revealed.
Courteney Cox rose to global fame for her portrayal of Monica Geller in the iconic sitcom Friends. She has also starred in the Scream film franchise as Gale Weathers, as well as television series, including Cougar Town and Shining Vale. Beyond acting, she has worked as a producer and director.
Johnny McDaid is a Northern Irish musician, songwriter and producer best known as a member of the band Snow Patrol. He has also co-written several hit songs for artistes including Ed Sheeran, Pink, Robbie Williams and Keith Urban.
