He said, “The BTS members are set to complete their military service by the end of the first half of this year, and they will need time for preparation and production before resuming activities. The company is also preparing by discussing with top-tier composers, but the artists (BTS members) themselves need time for deliberation and preparation.”

Lee Jae Sang further added, “Typically, the process involves working on songs, releasing an album, and then going on tour. However, since BTS has already risen to the level of global top artists, they are continuously discussing their vision and their ‘next’ phase. It is necessary to consider and align with this direction carefully.”

BTS, Bangtan Sonyeondan or The Bulletproof Boys comprise seven members, Jin, RM, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook. Jin is the oldest member of BTS, who enlisted in military in December 2022 and was discharged in June 2024. While Jin and J-Hope have already been discharged from the military, the other members, including RM, Suga, Jimin, V and Jungkook are serving their term. They are likely to be discharged in June 2025.

The members have been consistently sharing their solo projects with their fans. J-Hope recently released two of his solo digital singles, including Sweet Dreams, ft. Miguel and Mona Lisa.

BTS had announced their temporary group hiatus on June 14, 2022. They informed their fans that the hiatus was to focus on solo careers, projects and complete their mandatory military services.
