Imran Ahmed Khan Niazi, better known as Imran Khan, served as the 22nd Prime Minister of Pakistan from August 2018 to April 2022. The former Pakistani cricketer was preceded by Nasirul Mulk and succeeded by Shehbaz Sharif. Apart from being Pakistan’s ex-PM, he is also the founder and former chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) political party. Despite being one of the most celebrated cricketers of his generation, Imran Khan’s political career has overshadowed his legacy completely.
Pakistan’s former Prime Minister, Imran Khan, and his third wife, Bushra Bibi, are sentenced to jail for 14 and 7 years, respectively, in the Al-Qadir Trust case
Imran Khan did become the Prime Minister of Pakistan, which is the ultimate goal of most politicians, but despite achieving that, he has always been controversies’ favourite child. For instance, in a land corruption case on January 17, 2025, a local court in Pakistan handed a 14-year prison sentence to Pakistan’s former Prime Minister, Imran Khan. For the uninitiated, the land corruption case is linked to Al-Qadir Trust, a charitable organisation which is linked to Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi.
