
Jofra Chioke Archer, commonly known as Jofra Archer, is one of the most recognised fast bowlers in world cricket at the moment. The cricketer was born in Bridgetown, Barbados, on April 1, 1995, and while his father is English, Jofra’s mother is Barbadian. After completing a seven-year residency period in England, he was allowed to play for the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). The fast bowler made his first-class debut for Sussex in July 2016 and List A debut against Gloucestershire in 2016.
Jofra Archer made his ODI debut for England against Ireland on May 3, 2019. The fast bowler rose to fame and recognition when he was included in England’s squad for the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup. It was Archer’s super over in the final against New Zealand that handed England its first-ever World Cup win in the tournament’s history of 48 years.
