In a unique blend of cinematic scale and spiritual devotion, the trailer for the upcoming film Krishnavataram was officially launched at Krishna Janmabhoomi. The event, held at the sacred birthplace of Lord Krishna, saw thousands of devotees gather for what transformed from a standard promotional launch into a massive spiritual movement.
The unveiling was not restricted to a single location. In an effort to reach devotees across various holy sites, the launch extended to the Raman Reti Temple, Radha Rani Temple, Prem Mandir, and ISKCON Vrindavan. The atmosphere at these locations was described as deeply emotional.
The film’s makers have positioned Krishnavataram as a heartfelt offering rather than just a commercial project. According to the production team, the intent was to create a spiritual experience that resonates with followers globally. The trailer itself, titled Krishnavataram Part 1: The Heart (Hridayam), offers a glimpse into the divine narrative, touching upon themes of love, duty, and destiny.
The dialogue in the trailer shows the deep connection between Radha and Krishna, with one poignant moment stating that Radha is the essence of Krishna’s life. It also touches upon Krishna’s departure from Vrindavan, his marriage to Rukmini, and his eventual vow before the Yadav assembly not to return to Dwarka until a stain on his reputation is cleared. The footage concludes with the heavy weight of duty, referencing the events involving Draupadi and the call for Krishna to set aside his flute in favour of weapons.
Directed by Hardik Gajjar, the film boasts a high-profile creative team. The story is written by Prakash Kapadia and Raam Mori, with lyrics by Irshad Kamil and music by Prasad S. The technical crew includes cinematographer Ayananka Bose, production designer Chokkas Bhaardwaj, and costume designer Nidhi Yasha.
The film is presented and produced by Sajan Raj Kurup and Shobha Sant of Creativeland Studios Entertainment, alongside Poonam Shroff and Parth Gajjar of Athasrikatha Motion Pictures. Krishnavataram is conceived as the first chapter of a three-part cinematic franchise. The movie is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on May 7, 2026.
