L2 Empuraan trailer: Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran join a political fight

The trailer for Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran starrer L2: Empuraan has been released. The makers unveiled the trailer on March 20, and fans haven’t been able to keep calm ever since! It shows an intense political battle between the leads, filled with action-packed and emotionally-charged scenes. The 3-minute-50-seconds clip shows Mohanlal, Prithviraj and more in important avatars. Mohanlal reprises his role as Khureshi Ab’raam aka Stephen Nedumpally.

For those unaware, L2: Empuraan is the sequel to Mohanlal’s 2019 political action thriller Lucifer. Alongside the two leads, it also stars Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Indrajith Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu in key roles. Game of Thrones star Jerome Flynn is also one of the leads in the movie.

This Prithviraj Sukumaran directed sequel offers a glimpse into the current whereabouts of Lucifer. Memories from his past continue to haunt him while he tries to get to the roots of an intense political battle. While not much is revealed, the scenes are powerful and keep fans at the edge of their seats.

Taking to social media, the makers unveiled the trailer with the caption, “Presenting the #L2E #EMPURAAN trailer! Remember..it’s YOU who summoned the DEVIL at this hour!”

Fans took to the comments to laud the cast. While many praised the makers for bringing a sequel to Lucifer, others stated that they cannot wait to see Mohanlal on screen. The movie is slated to release on March 27, 2025. It will be available in the theaters in many Indian languages, including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.

While speaking about the movie and working with Sukumaran, Mohanlal had said, “He is very good. This is my third film with him. Bro Daddy was a different film from Lucifer. He knows what he is doing, he is very keen on scripting. He is a sensitive director. He will give more importance to acting and is totally into the film.”
