Former wardrobe assistant Asha Daniels filed a lawsuit in September 2023 against Lizzo’s touring company, Big Grrrl Big Touring Inc., alleging sexual harassment, racial harassment, disability discrimination, and a hostile work environment during The Special Tour in Europe. Lizzo was dismissed as an individual defendant in December 2024 after the court ruled her companies were the employer.
On September 1, 2026, federal Judge Fernando L. Aenlle-Rocha dismissed all remaining claims, ruling Daniels failed to prove gender hostility or racial slurs, giving Lizzo’s company a victory.
