Mad Square which released in theatres on March 28, 2025, has been faring exceptionally well at the box office. The comic caper that stars Narne Nithiin, Sangeeth Sobhan and Ram Nitin garnered positive reviews, and the word of mouth further helped the film to perform fantastically at the ticket window. Directed by Kalyan Shankar, Mad Square had grossed around Rs 69.2 crore at the box office. In overseas too, the film crossed one million in just three days. Trade experts comment that this is a remarkable feat for a film that doesn’t have any superstars. Yet, the quirky content, slapstick comedy and candy floss humour quotient worked in the film’s favour big time. The film’s producer Naga Vamsi thanked the audience for their love they have been showering on the film

“One of the biggest assets for the film is its writing. The way the film was written, and how the characters unfolded as the narrative progressed was able to strike the chord at the box office,” he expressed, adding that the audiences have proved yet again that they are also open to welcome content-based films. However, there were some reports that expressed uncertainty about the film’s performance at the box office. Naga Vamsi expressed disappointment that despite the film being appreciated by the audiences, negative reports on social media are unfortunate.

“If the collections announced had any deviations from the actual numbers, I challenge everyone to prove me wrong. When the audiences are enjoying the film in the theaters, why be so critical,” he asks, acknowledging that Mad Square is a no-brainer and devoid of all logic. “It’s a fun film and it’s pointless to try to find logic in such films.” Set in Goa, the film celebrates friendship and camaraderie through a whirlwind of comic misadventures. The film keeps the audiences entertained with vibrant humour and engaging performances of the lead cast.
