Katie Couric has lived much of her life in the public eye, but her personal story feels very real and deeply human. After losing her first husband, Jay Monahan, to colon cancer on January 24, 1998, she spent years focusing on work, raising her daughters, and speaking openly about health awareness. Then, years later, her life took a new turn when she met, John Molner. The two built a steady, supportive partnership that still continues today. From their first meeting to running a media company together. Molner has remained a strong presence in her life, both personally and professionally.
Katie Couric and John Molner’s love story

Their story started in 2012 through a mutual friend. Couric had asked if there were any single doctors she could meet, but instead, she was introduced to a banker, John Molner. He later reached out and asked her out, and things moved quickly from there. Couric later shared with PEOPLE in 2018, “What can I say, he had me at hello.” By Labour Day weekend in September 2013, Molner proposed during a beach trip. Less than a year later, on June 21, 2014, they got married in a small backyard ceremony at her home in East Hampton, New York.
