It has already been a year since Malcolm-Jamal Warner’s tragic death hit the headlines. The Cosby Show star, 54, was found dead on July 20, 2025, after accidentally drowning during a family vacation in Costa Rica. New court filings submitted by the late actor’s widow, Dr. Tenisha Warner, have revealed the identity of the couple’s 9-year-old daughter for the first time while alleging that both mother and child have been left without access to Warner’s wealth. Â
Malcolm’s widow, Dr. Tenisha Warner, filed a lawsuit against his mother and the Warner estate, alleging that she and the couple’s daughter have been cut off from their rightful share of his assets and family trust. The lawsuits, filed on July 20, 2026, revealed the actor’s daughter’s name as Mackenzie, a detail that Warner had deliberately kept private before his death.

Tenisha Warner has sued Malcolm’s mother, Pamela Warner, who serves as a successor trustee of the Warner Family Trust. The bereaved widow now seeks more than USD 1.2 million in damages, including a USD 1 million life insurance policy payout, USD 50,542 for wedding anniversary payments, and several other previously decided-upon financial aids. These include the salary for her work as Warner’s chief of staff and retirement contributions.Â
