The scandal of Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini is one of the most talked-about NFL offseason gossips of this year. The affair drama shows no sign of slowing down. A few days back, it seemed like the controversy was slowly dying down. But now it seems like the scandal has taken a new dramatic turn. Recently, the New England Patriots traded A.J. Brown, who earlier played for the Philadelphia Eagles. However, this sudden move reignited the scandalous affair of Mike and Dianna.
The Patriots trade A.J. Brown to shift focus from the scandal of Dianna Russini and Mike Vrabel
For the last two months, the New England Patriots have been dealing with a lot of media attention due to the off-field scandal between former NFL insider, Dianna Russini and head coach, Mike Vrabel. However, the team’s sudden move, making a huge trade to get A.J. Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles, has raised many eyebrows. Due to A.J. Brown’s stardom, NFL reporters and fans immediately began talking about him. Now, Patriots beat writer, Ben Volin shared that the team might have traded A.J. Brown to shift focus from the controversy. He described it as a ‘desperate’ move by Mike Vrabel and his team. He wrote:
“It would be naive, though, not to consider another reason for making the trade now, to distract from the episode involving Vrabel and Dianna Russini. Tuesday’s media session was previously scheduled to be open to the media, and it turned into the A.J. Brown Show, from Vrabel’s news conference to the interviews with the offensive coaches to Brown being the focus at practice to Brown speaking to reporters afterwards. It certainly seems the Patriots were so desperate to move past the Vrabel-Russini story that they were willing to overpay for Brown.”
