It has been over six months since Today co-host Savannah Guthrie’s mom, Nancy Guthrie, was kidnapped. For those who don’t know, Nancy was last seen on January 31, 2026, at her Tucson home in Arizona. The investigation into her disappearance has been going on for a long time, with barely any new information regarding her whereabouts. This led Savannah to make a new plea to the kidnappers. Following this, the sheriff in Nancy’s case is speaking out.
Sheriff Chris Nanos is positive that they will ‘resolve’ Nancy Guthrie’s missing case
Even though it has been more than six months since Nancy Guthrie was taken from her Tucson home, the Arizona sheriff who is leading the investigation into the abduction case appears to be optimistic about the outcome. It was after Savannah Guthrie shared her new emotional plea about her mother on Instagram on Monday, July 27, 2026, that Sheriff Chris Nanos of the Pima County Sheriff’s Department opened up about the case during an interview with NBC. In the interview, which aired on the Today Show on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, he was heard saying:
“We have so much DNA to sort through. We have so much in terms of video evidence to look at. I’m still positive that we’re gonna resolve this case.”
