Directed by the second-time filmmaker Buchi Babu Sana, the film set off interesting discussions upon its theatrical debut. A large section of Telugu viewers deeply connected with the motivational storyline, as the makers underlined in post-release speeches. The narrative, set in the 1980s, follows a determined youth fighting for his village pride. Audiences praised it, calling it deeply moving and emotionally resonant. They also lauded the powerful theme of rising against adversity. The inspirational journey of the protagonist, Peddi, came to be lauded by the fans of the Mega hero, in particular.

A clean hit in Telugu
The film only enjoyed box office success in Telugu, and in rest of the languages it failed miserably at the box office. In overseas too, Peddi ended up with losses at the box office. But theatres across the regions in the Telugu States transformed into festive grounds on the day of its theatrical release, on June 4. Fans celebrated the movie, co-starring Divyenndu, Janhvi Kapoor and Shiva Rajkumar, with paper throws, confetti, and loud cheers.
Ram Charan is now widely being hailed as the New-Age Megastar, something his father, Megastar Chiranjeevi, proudly spoke about at an event in the last week of June. From now on, the RRR and Rangasthalam actor will be called as one by fans and filmmakers alike.

Expanding beyond Telugu viewership
Fans can now look forward to seeing Peddi embraced by a much wider audience upon its post-theatrical streaming. The fandom expects the story, involving three sports (cricket, wrestling and running) to resonate strongly with non-Telugu viewers. The Netflix release provides a perfect platform for the pan-Indian viewership to experience this high-octane drama.
Ram Charan, meanwhile, plans to move on to his 17th film, to be directed by Pushpa maker Sukumar.
