Pankaj Tripathi’s upcoming family entertainer Ohh My Dog has been postponed by a week. The film, which was originally scheduled to release on July 31, will now arrive in cinemas on August 7. The makers announced the last-minute change along with the cancellation of the planned press show, adding that a new date for the screening will be announced soon.
The production team also apologised for the inconvenience caused by the sudden schedule change and expressed hope that members of the media would join them for the rescheduled event.
Crowded release calendar prompts change
According to industry sources, the makers decided to postpone the release after learning that The Odyssey and Dhamaal 4 would occupy a significant share of cinema screens during the same weekend. The revised release date is expected to provide Ohh My Dog with better screen availability and greater visibility at the box office. The film stars Pankaj Tripathi and Maahi Rai in pivotal roles and is directed by Amit Rai.
A heartwarming story celebrating humans and dogs
More than just a film about pets, Ohh My Dog explores the emotional bond between humans and dogs and the life lessons that emerge from that relationship. The makers describe it as a story about compassion, empathy, and coexistence, with canine companionship serving as its emotional core.
One of the film’s biggest highlights is the presence of over 250 real dogs, making it one of the largest ensemble casts of animals seen in an Indian feature film. Director Amit Rai has said the film celebrates the unconditional love, loyalty, and innocence that dogs bring into people’s lives while encouraging a more compassionate outlook towards animals.
The supporting cast includes Geeta Aggarwal Sharma, Rajesh Kumar, Pawan Malhotra, Sulakhyana Baruah, and Vijay Mishra. Ohh My Dog is produced by Babulal Biscope and Thinking Hats Entertainment.
