Prateik Babbar’s second wedding with Priya Banerjee made a lot of buzz after the former’s family openly expressed displeasure at not being invited to their celebration. A lot was out in the media, but Prateik and Priya never really reacted to it. They tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at Prateik Babbar’s late mother, Smita Patil’s first home in Mumbai. Recently, Priya spoke for the first time about all the clamour that took place while she was getting married to Prateik Babbar from Raj Babbar’s family.

In an interview with The Times Of India, when Prateik Babbar was questioned if not inviting his father, Raj Babbar and his family to his second wedding would change their equation, it was Priya who gave a prompt reply. Without mincing her words, Priya clearly stated that there was nothing to change. She further clarified that the family was never there, and the ‘person (Raj Babbar) was never there in his life. She said:
“There is nothing to change. There was never anything there. So, I’m confused when people comment, ‘You did this to somebody’. But no, that family was never there, that person (hinting at Raj Babbar) was never there in his life. So, I’m not sure why that question is coming up now, 30 years later.”
